The Broken Token and COVID-19
To our fellow gaming community,
We hope this message finds you and your family safe and well.
The last couple of weeks have been unprecedented in our lifetimes. As a California business, our state is one of the largest and most affected by the COVID 19 outbreak. Local, state, and federal orders are being updated constantly, and at The Broken Token, we have undergone a multitude of changes in a short period of time. We sincerely appreciate your support as we ride these waves of uncertainty.
For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been able to keep up with shipping out most of our incoming and back orders, pulling from our existing inventory and producing a small amount of new products with a minimal onsite staff who have safely worked alone in their departments. The orders that you’ve placed during these past few weeks have made it possible for us to keep our reduced team working, and we all appreciate that possibility. Thank you, from the bottoms of our hearts.
At this time, our existing inventory supply is depreciating and we have reached a point where we will not be able to produce new products to fulfill all of our outstanding orders until we’re able to return to regular operations.
If you currently have an unfulfilled order in our system, please rest assured that it will be shipped as soon as possible, when we have the personnel and products to do so. However, we don’t know at this time how long that delay might be. If you have the time and ability to wait for your order, we sincerely appreciate your patience. Maintaining your order allows us to keep supporting our incredible team and continue paying the bills. However, if you do wish to cancel your order, we completely understand, and we will issue you a full refund.
Our team’s safety and security has been at the core of every decision we make. We’re dedicated to taking care of them the very best we can at this challenging time. Some of our office staff have been able to continue working from home, while other members of our team whose roles are fully dependent on working together in shared spaces are now at home temporarily while we ride this out. We are eager to have them rejoin our family as soon as possible. In the meantime, we’ve provided employees who aren’t able to do their regular jobs with all the information they need to file for temporary unemployment and other income assistance programs. As a business, we are also pursuing opportunities to maintain our payroll and take care of our small business expenses so we can bring our team back and hit the ground running as soon as the distancing orders are lifted.
Our online store will remain open for orders, and they will be fulfilled as soon as we’re back. We hope you will continue to allow us to be a part of your game nights.
Stay safe. Stay home. And play games.
