Keeps cubes in place which is it's primary purpose. Plain beige finish so not as easy to identify purpose of each section eg Steel, Titanium. Pretty easy to assemble. Expensive especially on top of what's an already expensive game but IMO it is an essential component.

This is a gift for my hubby who plays Terraforming Mars solo at least twice a week. It looks great and seems to be much better than the wood products I have seen.

Excellent product, a little tricky to assemble. A Board Game Geek user made a colored mat for use with these, & I strongly recommend using them. The combination makes the game a pleasure to play.

After pulling out the game for the first time for a test run, I was disappointed that the players cards were of a lightweight color printed paper stock. How quickly the cubes get scattered and cause disruptions. I decided to order these trays from the Broken Token and I was glad that I did. Not only were they easy to put together, but how much they added to gameplay was immediate and satisfying. This is a great investment if you plan to play this game often, it really makes gameplay smoother and end of game breakdown quicker. A very innovated product.
