I have been very happy with a lot of the Broken Token products I have bought. I'm a bit less happy with this one. First, the cost. Getting the full storage solution for Arkham Horror 3rd edition here costs $220, which is a lot when compared to BT storage solutions for other large games, even others with their own storage crate. For comparison, Spirit Island is similar in size, has a crate, and costs $130. Terraforming Mars, a famously big game, is $170 with the crate. Eldritch Horror, a substantially larger game with a bigger crate and more trays, costs $220, the same amount. Why does this organizer cost so much more than other comparable products?
Next, the fit. The lid did not sit well, with a noticeable gap in one of the corners that causes the lid to be loose. I own a number of other BT large storage crates and have never had this issue before.
Finally, the stacking guide provided is inaccurate. This was actually an issue with the Expansion Organizer (ORG131) as well. The card trays did not fit in the top portion of the organizer as depicted in the stacking guide, and the same non-functional configuration is on the stacking guide provided with this product as well. It IS possible to fit all of the card trays in the space provided, but just not as depicted. Also, the stacking guide clearly shows the card trays placed within the ORG131 top tray fitting inside the crate. This does not work - the inner dimensions of the crate are the same as the ORG131 top tray, so there is no way for them to fit inside each other. Actually, if you look carefully at the images on the product listing, it shows this. The card trays are shown going directly into the crate without the ORG131 tray in the photos. However, the stacking guide provided with this product clearly shows the card trays inside the ORG131 tray fitting inside the crate. While I am happy that everything does fit, it is a bit of a shame that the ORG131 tray is basically scrap wood now.
In the end, the product itself is acceptable. It was easy to assemble, looks good, fits together well (minus the small lid gap), and puts all of the game components in one place without having to fiddle with multiple boxes or the rubber band contraption holding the lid on. I am just confused about why it costs so much compared to other similar products, and a bit disappointed that the stacking guide provided is not accurate and now means that the largest tray you get from ORG131 is garbage now.
