Not Broken Token’s Nest Work

I’m fairly disappointed in this product. I own several other organizers from Broken Token, and have been impressed by them. Not so for the Hogwarts Battle organizer.

I should have known better, but I bought this organizer despite it not mentioning support sleeved cards or either of the expansions.

But it was the only organizer available, and Broken Token has a reputation for well designed organizers. It looked like there would be plenty of room and every other organizer I bought from them supported sleeved cards. I mean the overlap between games who sleeve and gamers who organize is pretty large.

The first issue I noticed after assembly was the lack of dedicated storage for the dice. The stacking trays are too shallow to fit the dice. Not a big deal but it was a taste of things to come.

Next issue was almost a deal breaker for me. I sleeved my cards with the official sleeves. Mainly because I had trouble finding premium sleeves for the square cards. The standard and square cards fit fine. However the large cards did not fit the “correct” way, and had to be stored sideways. This made for an awkward small space due to the fixed center deviders. Thankfully the detention cards from the first expansion fit in that space.

I don’t have the second expansion yet but I may need to reorganize depending on how many large cards it has.

The last issue is that the rule books do not fit. With the board on top, it is flush with the top of the box. Putting the base and expansion rules on top of that results in approximately 1/4” of lid lift.

None of these are deal beakers, but I truly expected better from Broken Token

Does what it needs to do

The structure of the insert is basic, and thus it is hard to get wrong. The only complex part is the box for the tokens, which I think works well and has a nice design. The only issue I had was that while it has some dividers, only two have notches to slot into the frame, the other three do not, so it is a little hard to use them. And while it's not a big issue, as it says on the page, you will need the wood glue to keep it together, as the connection points aren't too sturdy on their own.

No hooks--

I like the organizer and it works for all of the components for the base game and two expansions. My two complaints-
1. There are two dividers that would be better designed to have hooks to stay in place. It was unnecessarily difficult to glue them in place and wait for the glue to set. They weren't a snug fit, so I had to press the wood together.
2. There is a bit of lid lift due to how the pieces are cut on the top. I think it's about 1/3-1/2 inch.

Great fit!

I sleeved all of the cards for this game and it is a tight fit, but everything goes in and is nice and organized

Great quality only complaint would

Great quality only complaint would be I thought the dice would fit in smaller storage boxes but they don’t.
